IPC-5000 Series including HY101 & HY102 are chemically bonded alloys of PPS and PTFE which exhibit truly unique chemical, thermal, and physical properties. These compounds provide a “flexible PPS” or a “mechanically enhanced PTFE” emphasizing the best features of both thermoplastics. The ratio of PTFE and PPS is altered as needed to provide a series of molding compounds which exhibit various degrees of flexibility.

Polyphenylene Sulfide Materials (PPS/PTFE Grades) some formulations, such as 5800 are highly flexible for use as O rings and low pressure chevron packing. Others, such as 5100, 5303 and HY101, have intermediate flexibility and offer the necessary rigidity for higher pressure and temperature applications, such as deep well V-rings and back-up rings, high temperature pump packings, and compressor rings and riders. All of the PPS/PTFE Series compounds exhibit excellent resistance to chemicals and all are self lubricating.
